Katarina is the 2020-2021 supply chain reporting fellow at the Global Reporting Centre and a graduate student of the UBC School of Journalism. Her research and reporting has contributed to cross-border investigations on money laundering, corruption, organized crime, and the offshore industry.
As the Supply Chain Reporting Fellow, Katarina worked on our award-winning nine-part podcast, “On China’s New Silk Road,” a project exploring China’s ambitious infrastructure buildout around the world. She authored, "How a Canadian Reporting Lab Is Pioneering Academic-Journalist Collaboration," for the Global Investigative Journalism Network — an article highlighting our journalism/academic partnership approach to reporting. Katarina has also been working closely with the Hidden Costs team on an eight-month-long investigation in partnership with NBC News into the global plastics industry (to be released soon).
